Operations Coordinator

Prime International are seeking to place an experienced Operations Coordinator, who will have brownfield Operator project experience. Applicants must have previously have worked for an operator such as Total, Shell or BP.

Primary Purpose of the Job
To lead the Project Operations team in coordination with QP Operations in providing the inputs, plans, activities and decisions relating to the operational, maintenance/asset integrity and commissioning aspects for the Bul Hanine Re-Development project, with focus on the successful execution of the project.

Principal Accountability
1. Lead a team of offshore Operational and Commissioning Specialists covering the areas of offshore operation engineering, field operations, marine operations/logistics, maintenance and asset integrity, with the aim of achieving a high level of technical integrity, operational excellence and reliability, whilst ensuring cost effective design in line with project budget and schedule.
2. Ensure co-ordination and communication with Project Managers/Engineering Manager and QP Operation Departments to ensure alignment and integration of the offshore project scope (mainly consisting of the Central Production Complex, Wellhead Jackets (new & existing) and Pipelines/Subsea scope) with existing facilities.
3. Support project objectives and goals through various activities, including but not limited to: endorsing Pre-FEED, FEED and EPIC deliverables, effective contribution to the Design Basis and Scope of Work for FEED and EPIC and participating in Change Management/Variation Control processes in order to ensure accomplishment of project objectives and targets as planned.
4. Ensure development of operating philosophies and strategies associated with the offshore and onshore project scope, in consultation with QP Operations Departments in order to ensure alignment with QP operational philosophies, whilst supporting and adhering to project objectives and goals. Provide input for start-up philosophy and organize QP system for start -up of the project facilities in coordination with the Contractors.
5. Ensure proper operational inputs to the engineering design, PFD's, P&ID's, constructability reviews, etc. by participating in the design/safety/operational reviews (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, etc.) with the aim of ensuring safe and reliable operation, and effective integration with existing facilities and consequent smooth handover of the facilities.
6. Contribute to the planning for execution of SIMOPS, in coordination with project team and in consultation with QP Operations, in order to ensure effective interface management between construction/commissioning activities and existing operations.
7. Ensure resolution of operational issues in consultation with QP Operation Departments and engineering and project groups with the aim of promoting and supporting asset integrity and operational readiness for commissioning, start up & operation, whilst meeting project schedule and cost.
8. Support the established Risk Management process in order to ensure successful and timely completion of the project.
9. Identify and initiate the recruitment of manpower resources required for the project operation team by liaising with QP Human Capital and QP Operations Departments in order to ensure the timely recruitment of the required operational resources and support Qatari development activities by ensuring that Qatari Nationals receive the proper job training and development.

Decision Making Authority
Operate within the framework of an integrated Project Management function, established Corporate Management policies, internationally recognized standard Industry Practices, and contracting procedures.
Independent authority for all inputs, plans, activities and decisions related to the operational aspects of the offshore and onshore scope for the project.

Exposed, for extended periods of time, to assignments overseas.
Exposed to different cultures, backgrounds and environments. Need to attend to and resolve conflicts, challenges and problems related to a large multi-cultural and multi-discipline operational workforce.
Exposed to offshore/onshore work environment during construction, installation, hook-up, commissioning, start-up and handover.
Activities executed with the highest required level of confidentiality.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Minimum Qualification
B.Sc. degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognized university.
A minimum of 18-20 years experience in Oil & Gas operations, of which a minimum of
10 years experience in operational leadership roles on major Offshore Processing Complex operations and Onshore Gas Processing facilities, with proven track record.
Experienced in the implementation of Industry best practices and Company's systems, processes and standards.
